Mel Juhnke – Tell us a little bit about yourself?
I am very outgoing, loud and fun to be around and love to have a good time. I see myself as focused, honest and a tell it like it is type person. I am married to Kye and have a young son Levi. I enjoy binge watching movies with junk food and a good cider in my hand. I am a caring, loving person who always thinks of others.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I love to spend time with my family and going for walks around Newcastle. You will mostly find us at our local footy field kicking the ball around. I have just started playing netball and really enjoy the social side the game. To unwind after a busy week, you will find me at a local pub listening to a great band.
What is your role with Account Aspects?
My role with Account Aspects is Admin Assistant. I am the first point of contact when you call Account Aspects to organise appointments and assist with customer enquiries. Deadlines are taken seriously here and I provide backup support to the bookkeeping team to ensure they are met.
How long have you been in this role?
I started in August 2017 and have experienced a lot since I started. With the diverse range of duties, the role has been challenging, but I am really enjoying myself learning the possibilities of cloud software in particular task management.
What do you like about working for Account Aspects?
Account Aspects is a fun, easy-going office and I enjoy meeting and talking with our clients. The team is focused and direct, which fits with my strengths and personality. I have been given the opportunities to flourish and make this role my own. I have been introduced to Xero and love how it helps small business owners understand their business. With the continued support and guidance, I am looking forward to having a more hands on approach in a bookkeeping role.
Why did you want to work in this industry?
This role is a new challenge for me as I have previously worked in the child care or retail industry. After having my son, I wanted a new challenge and a roll that could evolve and make into a long-term career. I went to TAFE where I studied a certificate 3 in business admin and excited that my new career is taking me into the Bookkeeping industry.
What is your goal for the future?
I really enjoy learning new things and am gaining more confidence in my workload. I feel this role is important in the growth of myself and Account Aspects and am proud to be a part of it. I am intrigued by the role the Bookkeepers play in a small business. I am looking forward to enhancing my knowledge and skills to take on bookkeeping work and further my career.
What are your strengths?
I believe my strengths are commitment and persistence. I am a fast learner and love using Xero in my role. I am focused and thrive whenever given a challenge. I strive to the best of my ability to complete whatever tasks given to me. I look forward to meeting more of the amazing customers of Account Aspects and learning more about the Bookkeeping industry.
